The Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition (PCSC) group and WDFW recently collected summer coho salmon from the Sol Duc Hatchery holding ponds to be threaded by Salmon Coalition volunteers for distribution. at the Forks Food Bank and also used for Forks area stream improvement programs. .
PCSC is a voluntary non-profit organization whose mission is to become actively involved in the restoration of local habitat by volunteers in order to obtain a healthy salmon resource in our region.

Wayne Haag, president of the Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition, empties carcasses into a throw-away bag along local waterways to add important nutrients to the water, especially for the insects that young smolts feed on.
Wayne Haag (center) hands fish fillets to Glenn King and Terri Rasmussen of the Forks Food Bank. The masons also received fish for distribution, as did several individual families. That day, 160 Coho were treated by PCSC volunteers.
