The Société de gestion de la rivière Alouette (ARMS) is organizing hatchery tours, the first of which is scheduled for November 8.
ARMS will host its first ALLCO Fish Hatchery tour on November 8 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
âThis is the first tour for 2021. We were running tours regularly for school groups, community groups and the general public before COVID-19. Since then we have had to adjust what we can offer and when. We hope to be able to offer more in the coming year, âsaid Alex Holmes of the company.
During this visit, ARMS will focus on the history and current conditions of the Alouette River and watershed, salmon life cycles, ongoing work at the hatchery, and learning about salmon species. found in the Alouette River.
âWe also talk about the species of trout found in the river and cover the environmental history of the area,â Holmes said.

âCurrently, we have not imposed to be vaccinated, because it is outside. Because we won’t always be able to stay physically apart, we encourage the use of masks during the tour and hand sanitization before we start, âsaid Holmes.
