15 Best Leftover Salmon Recipes

At Delish, we LOVE salmon. It’s full of good fats, full of vitamins (especially B and D!), high in protein, and cooks very quickly, which means we can use it to get a healthy dinner on the table ASAP. It really is a seafood superfood for weeknight dinner. The only downside? Salmon fillets can be quite large, which means that if you’re not cooking for a crowd, you’ll have leftovers to manage. Check out our list of 15 leftover salmon recipes for ideas to breathe new life into your fish.

One of our favorite ways to use up leftover salmon is to use it in any recipe that calls for canned salmon. If you cooked a large tenderloin, just shred your leftovers (salmon usually flakes quite easily, but check out our guide on how to shred chicken if you need advice) and use them as you would preserves. Try our Lemon-Dill Salmon Burgers, Salmon Croquettes or Salmon Patties and see for yourself. If all else fails, try salmon in your trusty tuna salad recipe – trust us, it works!

If you’re particularly proud or happy with your original salmon marinade (perhaps you opted for our Honey Glazed Salmon or our Sweet Chili Lime Grilled Salmon?), you’ll want to preserve those flavors. In that case, try highlighting it in our Salmon Tacos, on our Spicy Salmon Rice Bowl, or with fruit in our Pineapple Salmon Skewers.
